Tug-Of-War Board Game — help, bug reports, and answers to the questions that come up most.
One team reads this inbox. Real replies, no ticket numbers — usually within a couple of days.
Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, or something's actually broken, just email — see "Reporting a problem" near the bottom for what's helpful to include.
Playing the game
From the home screen, pick 2 Players or 4 Players, choose a difficulty, and hit "Let the War Begin." Nothing about offline play needs an internet connection once the app is loaded — no account, no sign-in.
Create Game gives you a 6-letter room code to share with a friend. Join Game is where they enter it. Quick Match skips the code entirely — you're automatically paired with whoever else is waiting for the same player count and mode, usually within a few seconds if anyone else is around.
No. Just type a nickname when you create, join, or queue for a match — any nickname you like. There's no sign-in today.
Tap the gear icon in the top corner of the home screen — Settings is sound-only for now: separate mute and volume for sound effects and music.
When something's off
First, try reloading the page or restarting the app — online games poll for updates automatically and usually catch up within a couple of seconds of reconnecting.
One thing to know: if you have the same room code open in two browser tabs on the same device, they share the same saved session, and reloading one can bump you to whichever seat the other tab last saved. Stick to one tab per device per game to avoid this.
Cosmetics, Chips (including any you've purchased), and sound settings are all saved locally on your device (or in your browser, on the web version) — nothing is backed up to an account yet, since accounts don't exist yet. Clearing your browser's site data, switching browsers, or reinstalling the app will reset them, including any Chips you've bought. This is expected today, not a bug — cross-device saving is planned for a future update.
You're matched instantly if someone else is already waiting for the same player count and mode — if nobody is, you'll keep searching until someone joins. You can cancel anytime and try again, or fall back to Create Game and share a code directly with a friend.
Sorry about that — email us (see below) with what you were doing when it happened. See "Reporting a problem" for what's most helpful to include.
About the game
The game itself is free to download and free to play. The General Store sells Chips — the in-game currency — which you can earn for free through play or buy in fixed bundles with real money, then spend on cosmetic outfits, felts, card backs, sounds, and taunts. Chips never have real-world cash value and can't be exchanged, sold, or cashed out. See the Terms of Service for details.
Chip bundles are bought entirely through Apple's or Google's in-app purchase system — we never see or store your payment details. Because Chips are credited the moment a purchase completes, we can't issue refunds ourselves; refund requests go through Apple or Google directly, under their own policies.
Tug-Of-War is rated 12+. It's a card and memory game with no real-money gambling, no chat with strangers beyond in-game nicknames and preset taunts, and no violent content.
The game is playable now on the web. Native iOS and Android apps are in progress — this page will be updated with store links the moment they're available.
Email us the room code and roughly when it happened, and what the nickname or behavior was. See "Reporting a problem" below for the full list of what helps.
